“In 1999, we purchased land on the east side of Tucson in Agua Caliente. Originally from New Mexico, we wanted our home to incorporate elements typical of New Mexico adobe architecture. After meeting with a number of architects and builders, we met Tom Wuelpern. He understood exactly what we wanted and worked with us to incorporate our ideas of adding a traditional Zaguan, rammed earth walls, territorial window and door trimmings, and a tin roof.”
FAVORITE ROOM: The Zaguan – a long wide hallway whose history is found in Haciendas and Pueblo architecture.
